Peacock Nails in Chula Vista is currently seeking talented and motivated junior hair stylists to join our growing team! You will be led and taught by our hair stylists Vanessa Romero and Tina Ngo. This position is ideal for recent cosmetology graduates who are eager to kickstart their careers and gain valuable hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic salon environment.

Candidates must be able to work 5-days a week for 5 ½ hours, and must be able to attend an additional day for education. The schedule is as follows:

Education Day: gain education and skills from our stylists through a 3-hour session. Following the education, you’re encouraged to bring your own model to practice on their hair.

Jr-In-Training Day: Once a week on Tuesdays, you will be given the opportunity to work on clients provided by Peacock Nails. The experience and skills you learn throughout the other days of the week will be applied to hands-on training. You will be overseen by our hair stylists.

Hands-On Assistance Day: You will be directly helping Vanessa and Tina on these designated days with their clients by assisting them with duties such as but not limited to blow drying, washing, etc.

• Monday – Education Day
• Tuesday – Jr-In-Training Day 
• Wednesday – off
• Thursday – Hands-On Assistance Day
• Friday – Hands-On Assistance Day
• Saturday – Hands-On Assistance Day
• Sunday – Hands-On Assistance Day

Compensation: $17 an hour, plus tips

Opportunities: This is a 3-month training position that gives you the opportunity to be upgraded to a Hair Stylist within Peacock Nails if deemed ready by Vanessa and Tina.

Responsibilities:

• Provide hair styling and cutting services to clients based on their preferences and style preferences.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in hair styling to offer innovative and current services.
• Collaborate with senior stylists and other team members to create a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients through excellent customer service and personalized consultations.
• Assist with salon maintenance tasks, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications:

• Completed a cosmetology program and obtained relevant licensing.
• Strong passion for the beauty and fashion industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
